What to do next

1

Check notices before applying for a permit

NHVR guidance says some Class 1 OSOM moves can run under national or state notices. If a notice covers your route and combination, a permit may not be required.

2

Apply through NHVR Go if the move is not covered by a notice

For most jurisdictions, NHVR access applications are lodged through NHVR Go. NHVR also publishes PDF forms for post/fax workflows. NT and WA trips are handled directly by the relevant road authority.

3

Prepare the information you will be asked for

Have the intended route, loaded dimensions, gross mass, vehicle combination, axle details, and confirmation that the load is a large indivisible item. You may also need third-party approvals and supporting documents.
