What an Inspection and Test Plan is

An Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) sets out, for one activity or lot of work, every inspection, test and record needed to show the work meets the specification: what is checked, by whom, how often, against which acceptance criteria, and which record proves it. Hold points stop work until the point is released. Witness points require notice so the client or their representative can attend.

Your project contract and specifications decide the content. The builder gives you the structure, the control levels and a clean export; it does not certify technical acceptance.

How the free ITP builder works

1. 1. Fill in document control. Give the plan a title and, where you have them, the activity / work type, project, contract, itp number, revision, author, reviewer, approver, scope / lot basis details.
2. 2. Add inspection rows. Add up to 150 rows. Each row records the activity, what is checked, the control level, who is responsible, the standard or specification, the method, the acceptance criteria and the record that proves it. Rows can be copied, moved and deleted.
3. 3. Preview and export. Switch to Preview to check the layout, then export a formula-safe XLSX or a paginated A4 landscape PDF, or print straight from the browser.
4. 4. Keep working later. Your draft saves automatically in this browser, so you can close the tab and come back. If you sign up for TaskRox, the builder offers to import the saved draft into a project.

No account and no email are needed. The draft stays in your browser; it is sent to TaskRox only when you export it, or when you choose to import it after signing up.
